First, commitment to pursuing trade agreements and the resolution of trade disputes with the interests of the whole nation, not just individual companies or industry sectors. Second, to the promotion and observance of the rule of law in international trade disputes - not the exercise of unilateral pressure. Third, the pursuit of trade policies consistent with existing national and international commitments including environmental protection, respect for democratic rights and freedoms, sustainable development, and the promotion of human rights.
