Social Security


Position: To ensure that we meet our social responsibility towards our elderly so that they may live in security and dignity:
  1. Forbid Congress from stealing from or privatizing the Social Security Trust Fund.
  2. Expand the Social Security System into a full national pension system which would eliminate the need for private, government, or union pensions.
  3. Remove the tax cap on income.
  4. Simplify and accelerate access to disability benefits.

ALERT: Wake up America

Iım getting worried that Barack Obama wants to cut back on Social Security.

Republicans are trying to lure him into cutting Social Security by saying he could enjoy the bipartisanship that he so craves if he did that.

Social Security needs to be enlarged into a full national pension system which would eliminate the need for private, government, or union pensions. That, combined with a national medical system would give the American worker the freedom to move when she needs to, change jobs without lose of benifits

Fund Social Security as the successful high priority program it is. One good scheme is the one mentioned; put social security taxes on all income, not just the first part of yearly income.

wouldn't a national pension system be a subsidy to giant corporations just like food stamps are described under another topic? if that is enacted but no living wage, employers will be skimming off the top and the bottom
