After a couple months off, we are moving our normal monthly call date up a bit in anticipation of the Global Climate Strike happening Sept 20-27. Please join us on the monthly call next Tuesday Sept 10th, 5:00-6:00 PM PDT/8:00-9:00 PM EDT

We are focusing this Organizing Call on the actions surrounding this Climate Strike and are excited to announce the guest speakers we have lined up:
Keya Chatterjee, Executive Director of U.S. Climate Action Network (USCAN)
Her work focuses on building an inclusive movement in support of climate action. Keya's commentary on climate change policy and sustainability issues has been quoted in dozens of media outlets including USA Today, the New York Times, Fox News, the Associated Press, The Washington Post, and NBC Nightly News.
Keya brings extensive experience in key positions not limited to:
Senior Director for Renewable Energy and Footprint Outreach at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Climate Change Specialist at USAID, NASA HQ communicating research results on climate change.
Kaela Bamberger- Extinction Rebellion D.C. Chapter - Shut Down D.C. Strike Coalition She is an organizer with Extinction Rebellion DC as well as the US National Team. By day she researches the true costs of fossil fuels with Oil Change International; by night she advocates and organizes for NVDA as a crucial tool to achieve climate justice. She abandoned a path in academia after realizing that nothing more needed to be written – now is the time to act.
We are looking to give you some more information on those we are in solidarity with in the broader national and global scope of the week of action and the actions in D.C to shut down business as usual. We also want to give people an opportunity to voice any concerns or problems we can help with regarding their local projection plans, though you are welcome to contact us outside of the call for help.

AND Backbone is organizing light projection in multiple cities across the US, to support the Climate Strike. In addition to joining us on the Call, please contact us ASAP if you:
- want to connect with a light team in your city and help with projection
- need a banner tool kit so that you, with a small group of friends, can deploy banners over freeways or other locations
- want to reserve an LED banner, for high visibility night-time messaging
- need imagery to make your action pop, including an inflatable pipeline (our two globes have been reserved already for DC and Vashon/Seattle)
- are local and can join us in our Vashon warehouse and make your banners for the Climate Strike, Wednesdays, Sept 11th and Sept18th
