We at Backbone are saddened and sickened by the actions we are witnessing in Washington, DC today. The cowards who brandish their weapons, incite and threaten violence should be treated as the dangerous criminals that they are. Trump needs to be removed from office with the 25th Amendment or other means.

We, however, must remain as resolved to respond with principled, nonviolent action. It must be a bold and fierce defense of the higher moral ground that honors the results of a free and fair election. The only thing that seems proportionate is a general strike and nonviolent blockades that halt business as usual.
