"But, to speak practically and as a citizen, unlike those who call themselves no-government men, I ask for, not at once no government, but at once a better government. Let every man make known what kind of government would command his respect, and that will be one step toward obtaining it." Henry David Thoreau Time to fall into an easy chair and reread this little essay my friends. http://xroads.virginia.edu/~hyper2/thoreau/civil.html

How about this blank canvas for some "artful activism"? Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place Washington is the site of the U.S. Open Championship golf tournament. Perfect for a water based action. The United States Golf Association is expecting more than 200,000 spectators, volunteers, media, vendors and staff to attend the seven-day event along with network and world wide TV coverage. There will be three days of practice rounds (Monday – Wednesday) followed by the four-day competition, which begins Thursday. The U.S. Open will be held June 15-21. Get busy PNW activists. This is our chance to make one hell of a statement!

Missing the Elephant in the Rotunda action yesterday inspired me to hold my own action today! I completed ten laps around the Capitol Building carrying my Backbone Campaign inspired sign, finally settling in front of the Temple of Justice. Somebody has to remind the legislators of their "Paramount Duty"! Since I was by myself, this is the best picture that I could get.

1000 teachers showed up at the Washington State Capitol Building on Saturday to make their demands known. My sheepdog Wally and I were 2 of them! Thanks Backbone for the tools to get our message out there.
