Mary Paterson

Mary Cogan Paterson is a climate justice activist who lives in Seattle. She was raised in Berkeley, California and educated in the University of California system during the 1970s and early '80s [during the movement to divest from South African apartheid, and she was a founding member of the UC Berkeley graduate student employees union. 

During Occupy Seattle and during a period of employment with King County, she was re-educated into social justice issues and became involved in the No New Jim Crow Seattle campaign. She has been an active volunteer with Backbone's Solutionary Rail project since 2017.
