Activists with Appalachian Voices, Sunrise Movement AVL, Poor Peoples Campaign, Reject Raytheon, Alliance to Protect the People and the Places We Live, and Beyond Extreme Energy rallied before the NC Utilities Commissions' Carbon Plan Hearing, to demand a better carbon reduction plan from Duke Energy.
Steven Norris, who helped to bring Backbone's "Declare a Climate Emergency" banner to the July 27 hearing, said, "We are facing the end of the world. I have a great, great grandchild. We've got to do something."
