Bainbridge Islanders Gather to Support Southern Resident Orcas

Bainbridge Islanders gathered for World Ocean day with art, action and ritual in support of wellness for the Southern Resident Orcas.

In a beautiful day of action through ritual and art, Bainbridge Islanders gathered together on June 8th to celebrate World Ocean Day in support of wellness for the Southern Resident Orcas. The celebration included showcasing informational works by local artists, creating postcards to send to senators requesting funding for orcas and deploying the Human Orca Mural.

Gatherers circled up for land and water blessings, stories of the orcas, and joining in on orca sounds before taking formation and snapping these pics.
