Following models of successful municipalist movements around the world, such as the Richmond Progressive Alliance (California), Barcelona en Comú (Spain) and Malcolm X Grassroots Movement/Cooperation Jackson (Mississippi), the Portland-Metro People's Coalition aims to build the collective power of people historically denied resources, justice and democratic control over their own lives.

Your donation supports our growing coalition of 20 grassroots groups working together strategically, beyond single issues or electoral cycles, to win a shared policy platform, engaging with government from an independent, coordinated and unified base of power. We intend to move beyond scarcity modes, reactive politics and small transactional relationships to a strategic and transformative organizing model to achieve our vision of fundamental systemic change. Our goal is to strengthen popular movements striving for a just, egalitarian and liberatory society for all.
