Protect Mother Earth Conference

It was an honor for Backbone Campaign staff and volunteers to provide logistical support to the Protect Mother Earth gathering at historic Frank's Landing in Nisqually tribal territory. About 75 people from PME participated in a Sunrise Ceremony at the gates of the NW Detention facility at 5:30 am Saturday, June 30th.

It was a special joy to be attend the PME with our allies from the Moving Forward Network. We learned and grew together, listening to the wisdom of many indigenous leaders from across the continents. We were nourished by the delicious food prepared by our gracious hosts, celebrated, prayed, and took action together.

Thank you to everyone who loaned gear, provided transportation, helped with setup. The tarpie, tents and gear, radios, box truck for transport of IEN supplies, and boat rides on the Backbone action support boat were deeply appreciated by our allies.

Forward Together with Gratitude & Solidarity!
