Media Training for Activists: Using the News to Elevate Your Activism

Have you ever organized a protest or event only to have the media ignore you? Are you frustrated that your cause doesn't get the attention it deserves in the news?
Through this introductory training for social justice activists, we'll explore what it takes to organize a newsworthy event and get attention for your cause. From crafting stories, to writing press releases, to building relationships with journalists and pitching your story, we'll use real-world examples and hands-on practice to introduce you to the skills you need to take your press engagement to the next level.
