Helping hands are needed this Wednesday! Pop-in for an hour or two. No Skills Necessary - Just your willingness to help out!
Next Monday, January 15th, is the 50th Anniversary of the MLK Day Celebrations in Seattle. Join us this Wednesday to create imagery in solidarity with the event. Inspired by the athletes who are taking a public stand to highlight racial injustice and police violence, especially toward people of color, the theme for this year's march is "Take A Knee for Justice."
Thank you to the volunteers who came out last week to make this banner in solidarity with the railroad workers being scapegoated for the horrible Lac Megantic disaster. We need to invest in rail infrastructure and workers and do away with dangerous and dirty oil and coal trains!
Supplies / food items you can bring:
- Non-GMO snacks or beverages to share. (We'll have some veggie snacks, organic hot cocoa and teas on hand)
- Bring some WARM clothes
- A headlamp and eyeglasses to improve visibility.
- Clean plastic screw-top containers (we especially love Talenti gelato containers).
PS: Can't come to the art build but want to help from the comfort of your home? You can take some of the materials home. Call/text Eric at 860-605-0776.
