Vashon Climate Group General Meeting on Sunday, May 19th 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Vashon Co-Housing:
Most of us are aware that our climate is in crisis. Oceans becoming warmer, extreme wild fires increasing on a global scale, glaciers rapidly melting, species becoming extinct and weather patterns no longer predictable. This is a conversation that many of us are reluctant to have as it causes anxiety and fear that our future is in peril and we are powerless to do anything to prevent it. One thing for sure is that if we don’t talk about this the consequences are inevitable. Our youth are intelligent, fearless and more than capable of addressing this the ultimate crisis for the planet. They have formed organizations to combat climate change, they are on the front lines and the movement is growing but they need our support. If you are concerned that there is nothing you can do… here is your opportunity, join us to have that uncomfortable conversation, share ideas and support those already pursuing a way forward. We encourage participation especially from teens, educators and parents. Please join us on Sunday, May 19th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Vashon Co-Housing.
