Save the Date:
Monday,January 16th - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - A HUGE rally at the Capitol. The WEA will be delivering a Children's Bill of Rights to the legislature urging the state to meet its consitutional duty:
"IT IS THE PARAMOUNT DUTY OF THE STATE TO MAKE AMPLE PROVISION FOR THE EDUCATION OF ALL CHILDREN RESIDING WITHIN ITS BORDERS, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OR PREFERENCE ON ACCOUNT OF RACE, COLOR, CASTE, OR SEX."
Join thousands of educators, children, parents, etc...from around the state as we join voices to demand that legislators do their duty. There will be educators driving up six hours to rally at the capitol. The Tumwater, Olympia, and North Thurston Education Associations must step up and flood the capitol steps. This is the most important legislative session in decades when it comes to Education. If we want action, we've gotta get loud!!! Spread the word. Talk about this at your buildings, with your neighbors, with family and friends. Bring your kids!!! We can't let the legislature kick the can any further down the road. It's time for ACTION....NOW!!!!!!!!!
