Get ready for this May's global wave of action- #BreakFree from dirty energy and practice paddling on the puget sound with Kayaktivism!
This training is open to all. Level 1 & 3 are offered concurrently. Learn how to paddle for the 1st time, get tips and tricks from fellow kayaktivists. If you already paddle come practice your safety and rescue skills.
This May, people from Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Vancouver, and beyond are converging at Anacortes, WA to push for a pivot away from dirty fossil fuels and towards a renewable powered society that stabilizes our climate and protects the health and well-being of our communities. Whatever your interest are there are many ways to get involved from family-friendly participation to direct actions aimed at interrupting fossil fuel infrastructure.
To join in on the water-based fun and protests, bring you and your friends to this Kayaktivism training!
Build community and Learn:
- Crucial paddle strokes
- How to raft up and hoist banners
- Communicate and paddle as a team and more
- or how to do rescues and be part of the safety team
- and welcome new paddlers and kayaktivists.
While there isn't a kayaktivist certificate or merit badge, (in addition to kayaktivism visibility and protest tactics) these trainings now emphasize and highlight paddle skills you'd be hard press to find outside of official American Canoe Association instructor trainings and at a fraction of the costs.
Reserve your spot in a boat by selecting one of the "ticket" levels below. We work to make kayaktivism accessible to all, select a level that matches you means (If you are RSVPing for more than yourself then just increase the quantity).
