Greetings good troublemakers!
Are you ready to stand up against the government's ramping up of the criminalization of dissent? Our June monthly artful activism call happens Thursday, June 20th (5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern), and in these times as the heavy handed government responses to dissent are mounting, we would like to discuss how we can continue to stand up for what is right.
Scroll down this page to RSVP.
From people facing 20 years for giving border crossers water, to being named in a DHS warrant for bearing witness to the treatment of migrant children at detention centers, to being charged with terrorism for standing in the way of a pipeline, the repercussions for standing for what is right are growing more severe.
How can we engage under these threats? Let's discuss ways we want to engage and how we can do it.
If you have any ideas, suggestion, and/or experience(s) to share, let our Solidarity Brigade Coordinator Phil know.
Please RSVP BELOW to get call details so you can join our discussion; information will be sent to you immediately after your RSVP.
If possible, please join us by video on your smartphone or computer so we can see each others' beautiful faces and continue to build community in our network; we look forward to seeing you!
In the meantime, please enjoy this musical piece written and performed by our longtime ally Eleanor Goldfield, the song is dedicated to our amazing artist ally Alessandra Mondolfi, who was targeted by a DHS warrant in El Paso for bearing witness to the child detention centers and sharing messages of love and solidarity with the children detained there.
"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so."
